Project title: Drepturi egale pentru toți! (Equal Rights for all!)

Short project description: 

Right Association works with a Roma community living at the outskirts of the city. It is a deeply discriminated and impoverished community. Through their project, the Association is equipping the community with information regarding their rights, facilitates meetings with various state institutions, and creates awareness regarding the structural discrimination that people are exposed to.

Project title: Vrâncenii cu dizabilități își doresc o viață autonomă (Citizens with disabilities from Vrancea want an autonomous life)

Short project description: 

The project planned by Dizabil.Eu aimed at creating awareness regarding people experiencing physical disabilities, advance the issues on the public authorities agenda and increase the engagement of the people with disabilities. A communication campaign was created and delivered, with the full involvement of the members of the group and a petition endorsed by approximately 600 citizens and a round table were organized to raise the attention of media and local authorities. In addition, a photo exhibition depicting the day to day challenges of citizens with mobility issues was produced and displayed to create even more awareness and engagement.

Project title: Chilia Verde 2 (Green Chilia)

Short project description: 

Chilia Veche is an aging community. The Association is trying to bring some fesh air, by better engaging the young citizens of the village. The village authorities were advocated for an outdoor space to be allocated for the youth. The area is maintained and equipt by the Association for the youth, with their full engagement. Activities facilitating civic education and engagement of the young people with the local authorities were also organized. 

 Duration: 7 months, plus a 3 months extension.

Romanian Youth Movement for Democracy

Project title: DiverCity – Orașul diversității, DiverCity – the City of Diversity

Short project description: 

DiverCity aimed to increase the awareness of the population of Bacau and of the local authorities regarding the accessibility of the municipality for young people and other people with disabilities, especially visually impaired. RYMD organized recreational meetings to bring young people closer together and to educate about the challenges of their vision impaired fellow. In order to raise public awareness and to draw the attention of local authorities,a flashmob was organized, opinions of young people were given voice and an accessibility expert was brought in to share his expertise on the issue.

E-Romnja Association- Roma Youth Group “Revendicări din sat”

City: Bucharest

Project location: Valea Seacă, Bacău

Project title: Preventing early marriage and school dropout.

Short project description: 

The purpose of the project is to build confidence and facilitate the expression of roma youth through theater and debate, as well as to inform families and authorities about the lifeplans and needs of roma youth, overcoming preconceptions and racism. The project is built around forum theater, an activist type of theater. The play is written and improvised by the teenagers that are involbed in the project, and the whole representation is in Romani language. The actors participate in at least 10 reherasals and workshops. Aside from the play and the workshops, the organizers combine talks and debate on important issues chosen by the teens in the community, with their parents and the school teachers, to hear and better address teen roma needs.

Project title: I Choose Informed

Short project description:

The purpose of the project is to inform and develop critical thinking skills for the roma population in Mizil Prahova and to involve them in public participation activities. The project has an educational component consisting of 6 workshops about human rights and access to public services as well as democracy and discrimination. The public participation activities include a flashmob and participating in the public local council meetings.

Project title: art200 x MadZine: Mental Health in the LGBTQ Community

Short project description: 

Organizing important conversations in the Queer Mad community, informing and raising awareness of the mental health issues and their expression with the aim of destigmatizing and encouraging public dialogue and participation of people with diverse mental health issues in civic dialogue. The dialogue and expression of mental health issues will take the forme of a magazine published and promoted around the art festival art200. The publication is written in partnership with Mad Pride Romania.

Short project description: 

Identity Journalism Academy aimed to increase the level of involvement among young people in the county Suceava through the development of journalistic and civic skills for around 20 young people in Suceava. The co-funding provided within Proteus allowed the Association to supplement the number of participants, to enlarge the team of trainers and to offer the participants training materials.

Project title: Platforma online de jurnalism comunitar “ZineDeValcea.ro” (the online platform for community journalism Tell us about Valcea)

Short project description: 

Through this project the group is developing an online media platform (ZineDeValcea) that is to  become an alternative to the local media and a platform of expression for the citizens engaged in bringing about change in Ramnicu Valcea. The content of the platform is generated by an editorial team of volunteers and is to cover a variety of topics, including local politics and community issues. Through the platform, the group also intends to hold the public authorities accountable on issues of local interests by issuing and raising support for petitions.

The NGO is organizing 5 workshops in order to raise the capacity of young people when it comes to Inclusion and Advocacy. After the workshops they want to organize a group of 15 young people so that they can run  advocacy campaigns through which they can contribute to increasing the level of knowledge of citizens, thus facilitating their involvement in the decision-making process or in changing the issues they will identify relevant.

Project title: Tinerii dezbat democratia – Youth debate democracy

Short project description:

The project addresses misinformation and the lack of political involvement of young people in Rădăuți and neighboring rural areas, caused by family influences and the lack of correct information. The aim is to increase political awareness and form active and responsible citizens. The project includes neutral debates between parliamentary candidates and young people, promoting civic engagement and independent voting. The planned activities are aimed at providing correct information and increasing young people’s interest in politics.
